QUALITY STANDARDS
In all its jewelry, Hamilton & Co. uses only diamonds procured in accordance with the Kimberley Process. Established in 2003 following a United Nations General Assembly resolution, this process ensures that “conflict diamonds” do not enter the rough diamond market.
The Gemological Institute of America (GIA), an internationally recognized authority, has established a set of standards for certifying diamonds known as the 4Cs: Color, Clarity, Cut, and Carat. These criteria determine a diamond's quality and value. All preselected stones meet these internationally recognized standards of excellence.
Hamilton & Co. selects only natural diamonds graded from D (colorless) to I (near colorless) on the diamond color scale. The stones are carefully chosen from the highest clarity grades—from IF (Internally Flawless) to SI1 (Slightly Included). The weight of diamonds is expressed using the international standard unit of measurement: the carat, where one carat equals 0.20 grams. All diamonds used in our jewelry have an “excellent” or “very good” cut grade. The Maison’s experts meticulously focus on symmetry, polish quality, and cut finishes to reveal the full sparkle and fire of each gemstone.
